Back up your install first. If you have an existing KSP install with mods, back up your GameData folder before proceeding. Importing the mod list will change your install.
You will need: KSP 1.12.5 (Steam recommended) · ~15 GB free disk space · CKAN · ~30 minutes

You need KSP on Steam (or a standalone 1.12.5 copy). If you have a newer version:

  1. Right-click Kerbal Space Program in Steam → Properties
  2. Open the Betas tab
  3. Select 1.12.5 from the dropdown and let Steam download
macOSKSP runs under Rosetta 2 on Apple Silicon — this is normal and fine.

Download CKAN from the official releases page:

↓ Download CKAN
WindowsDownload ckan.exe and run it.
macOSDownload ckan.dmg, or run the .jar via java -jar ckan.jar.

On first launch, point CKAN at your KSP 1.12.5 install and let it update its mod database.

↓ Download ()
LunaMultiplayer is included. The CKAN file installs the LMP client (v) automatically — no separate download needed.
  1. In CKAN: File → Import CKAN list
  2. Select the downloaded .ckan file
  3. CKAN will list every mod to install — click Apply
  4. If a "Recommendations & Suggestions" dialog appears, see the callout below
  5. Wait for downloads (10–20 minutes)
Do not add or remove mods from this list. Part mods must match exactly between all players or vessels will not load.
A "Recommendations & Suggestions" dialog may appear. Those are the optional mods from the manifest — safe to enable or skip, the server doesn't enforce them. They match exactly what we list under Mods → Optional.

This ZIP contains the WTK-LMP-Plugin (required — auto-adds the WTK server to your LMP favorites) and ModuleManager compatibility patches.

WTK-LMP-Mods-v1.0.1.zip
  1. Open the zip — inside is a WTK-LMP-Mods folder containing GameData/
  2. Drag the GameData contents into your KSP GameData folder
WTK-LMP-Plugin is required. Without it, you'll get "Mod check failed!" when connecting.

Before connecting, verify LMP loaded: launch KSP and check the bottom-left corner of the main menu for "LunaMultiplayer v0.29.2".

  1. Launch KSP 1.12.5
  2. Click the LMP button at the bottom of the main menu
  3. Click Multiplayer
  4. Add a new server: Name WTK KSP Multiplayer · Address play.waydethekiwi.com · Port 47786
  5. Click Connect
You're in. Spawn a vessel, say hi in chat, and don't aim for anything important.

"More than one module can't manage object" (B9PartSwitch warning)

Conflicting ModuleManager patches. Delete ModuleManager.ConfigCache and ModuleManager.ConfigSHA from GameData and restart KSP.

"Missing parts" on a vessel

Someone used a mod you don't have, or your versions don't match. Re-import the CKAN file.

Can't connect

Check the server status on the home page. If online and still failing:

  • Windows: allow KSP through Windows Defender Firewall
  • macOS: System Settings → Network → Firewall — not set to block all incoming
  • Still stuck? Ping WaydeTheKiwi on Twitch
